Hi Hi Hi! It's wonderful to meet you all! This is my first time publishing any translations I've done, so please be kind :)
A brief introduction:
My name's Zhongjie as in 衷洁, and I usually go by ParaffinJie or something similar sounding. It's just me running this, and my best friend is grammarly.

My Translations
1: I do this for fun. While I come from a Chinese background, I haven't been there in years and my language has deteriorated as well. Would I be able to survive if I got stuck there? Yes. Would it be pretty? Absolutely not. If it's a difficult passage I'll most likely go for the spirit of the meaning instead of the words themselves but fear not, no Icelandic Dracula will be happening
2: For the most part I keep honorifics when it comes to dialogue, when it comes to professions then it depends on how common it is. I would be more likely to write "Yang-Laoshi" instead of "Yang-Boshi" simply because Laoshi is one of the first words you learn when studying. For a general rule of thumb if it's commonly used in other tls, it'll stay the same.
2.5: On that note, I keep some slang directly translated but it's the type that is pretty intuitive and there isn't any guesswork as to what it could be. (ie. black-bellied/ two-faced). Edit: I've been told that I mix up different slang and idioms like my friend does her drinks so it's actually not as intuitive as I though, my bad. Let me know if it's confusing and I'll fix it up.
3: In cases like rhymes, idioms, puns, it'll be a mix between keeping the original wording or finding an equivalent. For poetry/ prophecy (if that ever happens), say if it's something about flowers, I'd keep the subject about flowers but change the wording so it has a cadence when read in english.
4: For my notes at the bottom I'll use a mix of characters and pinyin, because pinyin saves lives. Edit: so that was a fat lie. Expect characters and toneless pinyin for the most part. As of 04-21-23 I'm going over and editing old chapters so things will be updated.
5: When I translate I'll read through the characters and the pinyin, translate to the best of my ability and then go over any confusing sentences again with a Chinese-English dictionary before reading an pure google-translate english mtl for confidence. Transparency is key and I would say mine are mtl assisted to be on the safe side!
6: Release schedule... is currently up in the air. I'd say two times a week with an extra chapter or two thrown in occasionally
